Vontaze Burfict & Alfonzo Dennard Had A Terrible NFL Draft

Vontaze Burfict signs with Bengals, Alfonzo Dennard drafted by PatriotsIt was a great weekend for the more than 230 players who were selected in the 2012 NFL Draft, but a not so hot one for two players who were in total free fall.

Linebacker Vontaze Burfict of Arizona State was projected as a late first round draft choice six months ago. Unfortunately for Burfict, he earned himself numerous red flags during a disastrous offseason, leading up to the NFL combine in February, where he performed very poorly.

The LA area native went undrafted during the three-day New York City extravaganza, instead signing as an undrafted free agent with none other than the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bulls odds drop from 7-2 to 15-2All of Chicago is mourning the loss of star point guard Derrick Rose, after last season’s league MVP tore an ACL during the final minutes of the top-seeded Bulls Game 1 victory over Philadelphia on Saturday.

Rose’s injury is also being felt in the city of Las Vegas.

Chicago opened the playoffs at 7-2 odds to win the NBA title, but have now dropped to 15-2 after Rose's injury.

While the Bulls are dropping, the Miami Heat "rose" from 2-1 to 3-2 favorites, according to the sportsbook at Bovada.

Antonio Cromartie Expanding His Stable Of Kids

Antonio Cromartie wife sonogramNFL statisticians were recently sent scurrying, following a sonogram photo posted on Twitter by the wife of the Jets Antonio Cromartie. The image suggests she is pregnant with identical twins.

The cornerback already has sired ten children (including four three-year-olds), with eight different women in five states.

After all, a defensive back does have to cover a lot of ground.

Even Cromartie has trouble remembering all his children and their names--- his two youngest are son Jagger and daughter Jurzie.

Cromartie's personal depth chart makes him a strong candidate for the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Here is the horrific sculpture from a New York City Subway store.

Nacho World Record Set At Kansas Relays

Nacho World Record Set At Kansas RelaysA world record was set at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence on Saturday, but it was not on the track or in the field.

Athletes and spectators paid $1, or donated canned food, in exchange for a massive serving of nachos, helping to set a record according to a judge from the Guinness Book of World Records who was present.

The grand total was 4,689 pounds of pure nachos, on an 80-foot plate. The tasty feast included more than 1,200 pounds of ground beef and 230 pounds of dip.

Roughly 70 percent of the meal was consumed during the day.

Proceeds from the festivities were donated to the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen, a local food bank and charity which provides meals to low income families.

Sacramento Kings Becoming Anaheim Royals?

Sacramento Kings Becoming Anaheim RoyalsIt seems more and more likely that the Sacramento Kings will move to Anaheim before next season, giving Southern California a third NBA franchise.

Six weeks ago, the owners of the Kings and the capital city of California approved an agreement to build a new downtown arena, but now the city and the Maloof family (Kings ownership) declared that they distrust each other.

The mutual animosity is being published daily in the Sacramento Bee.

A loval committee, formed by former NBA star and current Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson, released a statement saying that “dealing with the Maloofs is like dealing with the North Koreans -- except they are less competent.”

Florida’s Erving Walker & His $301 Taco

Erving Walker steals taco and fined $301Point guard Erving Walker is the all-time leader in assists at Florida. He led the Gators to the NCAA West Regional Final last season, blowing a late lead against Louisville.

Walker had 37 steals for the season, but it was his 38th which earned all the headlines.

On March 30 in Gainesville, Walker ordered a taco from a street vendor at 1 AM. For some reason, he then fled with the purloined taco, without paying the $3 charge. He was subsequently apprehended by the police after a foot chase of several blocks.

Walker was arrested and charged with retail theft and resisting an officer without violence. He admitted to stealing the taco, but told police he was" just playing around." Apparently, the Gainesville police did not think it was very funny.
