Brett Favre looking for some home cookin' in New Orleans

In Sunday's marquee NFL matchup, the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints will battle for the NFC Championship. The Saints are seeking their first ever trip to the Super Bowl, while the Vikings are playing for their first "big game" appearance since 1977.

The man of the hour, come Sunday, will be legendary Vikings' quarterback Brett Favre.  The 40-year old Favre, came out of retirement for the second time, to compete in his 19th NFL season for the Vikings.  Favre ending his career in Minnesota is the equivalent of Derek Jeter leaving the Yankees to finish his career with the Red Sox.  In the Midwest, the Vikings/Packers rivalry is as heated as any comparable situation in sports.

Favre grew up in Kiln, Mississippi, a short 56 mile drive from the Louisiana Superdome. Tying into this storyline is the fact that Favre's greatest career achievement took place in the very same stadium.

Favre led the Packers to a 35-21 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI. Favre completed 14 of 27 passes for 246 yards and 2 TD's in the game. Winning the world championship in the Big Easy was a dream come true for Favre.

The Vikings absolutely hope their history of poor play on the road will be offset by Brett Favre's kinship with the Gulf Coast of the United States.
