Charlie Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller has been rushed to the intensive care unit at a southern California hospital as a result of a 105-degree fever, a dangerous medical situation brought about by an infected wisdom tooth that had previously been operated on shortly before Mueller was admitted to the hospital.

"Brooke is in the hospital ICU related to the surgery for her impacted wisdom tooth," Yale Galanter, Mueller's attorney, tells People magazine. "They are trying to get the infection and fever under control. The infection has spread."

Just last month Charlie Sheen was arrested after a domestic disturbance at the couple's Colorado home over the Christmas holiday.

Mueller and Sheen will now have to postpone their scheduled hearing in an Aspen court, a meeting required for Mueller to amend the protective order she initially sought against her husband after he roughed her up in what became an ugly instance of domestic battery and a PR nightmare for the sitcom star.

Charlie Sheen, however, is now at his wife's bedside in the ICU.

"Mueller wants to be able to communicate with her husband and hopes they can go back together as a family with their 9-month-old twins, Bob and Max," Galanter tells People.
