In the hours prior to the Texas Rangers 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 3 of the ALDS, many Rangers players and coaches were spotted at the Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg. Besides being the rumored location of paranormal activity, this luxury hotel was the lodging destination for the Rangers during the Tampa Bay portion of the series.

Surprisingly, Rangers players were transported to Tropicana Field either via taxi or hotel shuttle. There was no official team bus anywhere in sight. I found it very interesting that the shuttle buses were not private to just members of the Rangers organization. In multiple instances, Rangers players and normal hotel guests would share the very same mode of transportation.  What a great way to interact with your favorite player, right?

Among the players seen relaxing in the resort lobby was 3B Adrian Beltre. As can be discerned from the discreet photo, the two-time All-Star was incredibly relaxed as he prepared himself for Monday’s big game. iPad in hand, Beltre appeared to be unfazed by the many pressures of postseason baseball.  

The cool and collected Beltre belted a single and scored a run in Monday's dramatic win, and then went on to dominate the Rangers offense on Tuesday, blasting three home runs in Texas' 4-3 series clinching victory in Game 4.
