It was fall of 2006 and I had just decided that I could no longer deal with the asinine behavior, and decision making of radio station management in Lima, Ohio. They had just fired a good friend of mine for no real justifiable reason, and didn't come through with my raise...so I said screw you guys, I'm goin' home! (in a Cartman voice)
It was an extremely tough decision to make, but in the end the best one for me. What affected me the most was saying goodbye to the listeners whom I had developed friendships with over the course of my 2 years there.
One listener who would call me up every day and ask for a deep cut of Aerosmith, sent me an email weeks after I had left the station. He said in his email that he had really good seats for Aerosmith, at the Germain in Columbus, Ohio. Part of me was a little hesitant, hoping that he wasn't gonna try and fashion a suit out of my skin! But Wade in fact wasn't a psycho, and I made it to the show un-murdered!
I thought I knew what to expect, witnessing Aerosmith live on television multitudes of times. Let me tell ya, I was dead wrong. These guys blew my freaking mind! Steven Tyler, and Joe Perry were electrifying. We were very close, and the show went down in history as one of the best live musical performances that I have ever witnessed!
