The day started with great news for Minnesota.  After so much speculation, Brett Favre had finally signed with the Vikings.  This very same day also happened to be my parent’s anniversary.  We had made reservations at Wildfire Restaurant in Eden Prairie, Minnesota a few days prior to the signing.  The restaurant is located about five minutes from the Vikings offices and practice facility.  We arrived at Wildfire thinking it was going to be a nice, low key dinner.   Soon, it became clear how truly memorable this night would be when I saw Vikings owner Zygi Wilf, as we were waiting for our table.  Then, I saw Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe enter the restaurant.   Shortly after we sat down, word started to circulate that Brett Favre himself was having dinner in the backroom with several members of the Vikings organization, including the guys I had already seen. It turned out that he was taken to the restaurant via police escort, with a security barricade assembled outside Wildfire.  You would have thought President Obama was having dinner in the backroom.  We caught a look at Favre, but security kept us from being able to meet him.  This was certainly the most memorable anniversary dinner my parents ever had.  We were all proud to be a part of this great day in Minnesota history.
