Colbie Caillat is the daughter of a music producer father who worked with the likes of Fleetwood Mac in his day.  This singer-song writer & guitarist got her music noticed on myspace (remember myspace?  you probably still have a page somewhere.)  After being the number one unsigned artist on myspace she was eventually signed and hit the scene running with her first single "Bubbly."

We had Colbie come in to do an intimate performance for a small group of listeners in our performance studio where she performed her latest hits and did a question and answer session with her fans.  It all still seemed surreal for Colbie who was generally interested in her fans interpreting the song meanings.  "Music is interpretive to the listener."  "To find out the context in which my fans hear songs that come from my real life experiences, simply blows me away," said Colbie.

When I got to stand next to her for a photo, I couldn't help but notice how tall she was.  Overall a very sweet girl, carving out her own musical nitch. 

I saw her perform later that night and just like her intimate performance, she brought that personal feel like she was singing for each individual audience member and spoke to them, not like other artists who speak at the crowd and not to it.
