I was working for Cumulus Ann Arbor, as a News Director, for their 4 station cluster. One of those stations was a sports talker, and that week the entire staff, had either quit, or been fired, and they needed me to cover a charity golf outing, attended solely by former University of Michigan football, players..i.e. some of the best in the NFL, for example Charles Woodson (2009 NFL Defensive Payer of the year),  & Dhani Jones (also the star of Dhani Travels the Globe, on the Travel Channel).

It was a great cause supporting CS Mott Children's Hospital, some thing former Wolverine Coach Lloyd Carr has always been passionate about. Basically the gig was before the golf outing approx. 25-35 players were set to be interviewed by me, for about 5 to 15 minutes apiece, over 5 hours of interviews, oh did I mention that I know jack about football, and had to have a teenage intern whisper the questions, and players names to me.

Anyway I tried to stear conversations away from football, towards talikng about the hospital, one because that's what the event was about, and B I didn't want to look too stupid. I'll be honest talking to football players can sometimes be... well like talking to football players, and 4 hours of talking to football players... But there was definately some fun interviews that day, especially Dhani, cool guy, funny, and just smooth as could be, I don't know if he knew about the show at that point, I didn't, but I could tell he would be doing more than just a little sports broadcasting, when he decided to branch out. He was a good interview, football wasn't mentioned, and he's actually funny, I wasn't doing my fake laugh for the first time that day. All in All Dhani was probably my favorite interview that day.
