I was in the security line at the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport, heading back to New York City, when I noticed former Wolves and current Wizards coach Flip Saunders standing right behind me. After my family and I moved through security, I noticed Saunders getting pulled aside so that he could be given the more thorough TSA security search. You would think they would let the only good coach in Wolves history through without incident. The poor guy had to remove his belt and everything. I’m sure Saunders pines for the start of the NBA season, when all of his air travel involves meeting chartered flights directly on the tarmac. Ironically, I pine for the days when Flip Saunders coached my Wolves and the team was not one of the doormats of the NBA.
