Friday, at around 12:00 PM PT, former Major League Baseball Commissioner Peter Ueberroth was seen entering the Island Hotel in Newport Beach, California. This property is the New York Yankees’ lodging destination, when visiting the Los Angeles Angels. Ueberroth resides in the seaside city of Laguna Beach, located seven miles south of Newport Beach.

Ueberroth’s resume includes heading the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics organizing committee and working as baseball commissioner from 1984-1989.

Ueberroth has remained an active member of the sports world, including serving as chairman of the United States Olympic Committee Board of Directors from 2004-2008. Currently, Ueberroth is owner and co-chairman of the Pebble Beach Company, which owns and operates the legendary golf courses and resorts of Pebble Beach, California.
