While spending time at the All-Star FanFest in Anaheim, I had the pleasure of seeing the great Hank Aaron up close and personal.  Aaron was appearing on an audio telecast for MLB.com. The man exudes such class and dignity. He talked about the value of hard work and the nagging injuries that took a toll on him as his career progressed.  He mentioned how nagging knee injuries affected his ability to drive in the years after he retired. Aaron also spoke of his high regard for the talent and personality of Jason Heyward.  Aaron appears to be very proud that Heyward is a member of the Atlanta Braves.

It’s amazing to see the reaction of both young and older fans when in the presence of the Hammer.  He is an incredibly beloved figure. What’s great is that Aaron appears to be genuinely comfortable among his many fans. Hank Aaron is a true legend on and off the field.
