Ryan Seacrest has always had something in commin with me.  What some of you know from the host of American Idol is he appears to always be on television.  From hosting red carpet events for E! and of course he is the host of E! News and countless award shows.  Ryan shares with me his radio career.

Ryan started on the air in his native Atlanta.  Now Ryan serves as the host of "American Top 40" which is nationally syndicated.  Additionally, Ryan is syndicated with his show which eminates from Los Angeles.

So what do you say to the guy who talks to everyone?

I met Ryan as part of the press coverage at the 2004 Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas.  As he settled in and we talked on my afternoon show, it dawned on me...Ryan's life is a weird balance.  He is an interviewer and host, but is also considered a celebrity himself.  I guess the first thing I wanted to know was how do you seperate the two?  His answer was pretty simple.  "When it comes down to it, I just ask questions anyone else would want to ask."

Obviously with all the time he is working, the next question was when do you find time to just do things that all of us do like go out to eat or veg and watch television.  Right when I asked I realized he spends most of his day broadcasting and those moments are few and far between.

Ryan was very well spoken and in person is the same person you see hosting Idol every week.  There's nothing terrbily flashy about him, and his humor often times is self depricating.  Throughout our interview, he kept eye contact and thought out his answers and was sure to give us everything we needed as far as audio.

I respect Seacrest and his hustle and was pretty shocked at how normal he really was.  He was a good interview and an interesting mind to pick especially since he has his hands in so much these days.
