At a recent BYU football tailgate party I noticed bball coach Dave Rose was signing autographs at a nearby table. Although I didn't really feel the need for a picture with his signature, I wanted to thank him for his inspiring story battling cancer in the off-season. His grey hair and loss of weight may be the only lingering outward signs of his battle with a deadly form of cancer. He inspired many, including me, with his humble faith as he journeyed through the unknown and his adversary into submission.
Well, I stood in line and waited my turn. Then I thanked him for the inspiration. He told me that he had truly been blessed through the battle. Now, he is back in the saddle, resuming his BYU basketball coaching duties. It's hard to keep a good man down.
I did take his autograph (see attached).
