Some interesting scoop on that SNL Lady Gaga/Madonna skit: 

I actually spotted Lady Gaga at the SNL after-party at DCBG Kitchen & Bar.   Not that anyone there could miss her entrance--she was the last celeb to arrive, and when she strode in, flanked by her entourage, she pretty much commanded the room in her big fur coat and dark shades.  Couldn't see what she was wearing on her feet (damn entourage!) but I'd like to think it was those fabulous thigh-high boots she wore on the show...She definitely had the whole fabulous Diva thing going on.  I wish I could have snapped a pic of her but since it was a private party (and I was there as a friend of a friend), I had to play it cool, although I can't help but think she wouldn't have minded.

     Anyway, I heard from people connected to the show that the reason that her skit with Madonna fell so flat was that Madonna was supposed to sing before Lady Gaga did.  Instead, she just kept dancing, leaving Lady G to start her vocals in the middle of the song.  Whether Madonna missed her cue or intentionally left Gaga hanging is anyone's guess, but it seemed to throw off the whole skit, which, you have to admit, was pretty awkwardt to begin with.  Considering what she had to work with, I think Lady Gaga's performance on SNL was fabulous--especially her second musical number, which absolutely blew everyone away.

I love theatricality of Lady Gaga's performances--the elaborate props & sets, sick costumes, edgy coreography--but underneath all the glamour, it's her amazing voice that's got me hooked, which is the one thing Madonna will never be able to match.

Sorry, M, but it's Lady Gaga ftw.
