Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland and team general manager Dave Dombrowski were spotted in the lobby of the Minneapolis Marriott City Center in Downtown Minneapolis on Tuesday afternoon. Leyland was initially seen relaxing and thinking about Tuesday night’s game against the Minnesota Twins. A few minutes later, Dombrowski came over to join in on the conversation with Leyland. Both men were casually talking baseball for a few minutes, just before they left for Target Field. Leyland and Dombrowski have achieved great success together, dating back to their time with the Florida Marlins. Both men were in the same roles in 1997, when the Marlins won their first World Series, defeating the Cleveland Indians in seven games. In 2006, Leyland's first year with the Tigers, this tandem won the American league pennant, eventually losing to the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. On this night, the men were once again victorious, as the Tigers thumped the Twins 10-2.
