Texas Rangers superstar outfielder Josh Hamilton has had a baseball career chalk full of numerous ups and downs. After addiction to drugs and alcohol nearly destroyed his incredible talent, Hamilton cleaned up his life and earned the 2010 American League MVP award. During the Rangers’ American League championship season, Hamilton compiled a .355 BA, with 32 HR and 100 RBI, in only 133 games.

This season, Hamilton’s play has continued to soar. Unfortunately, heartbreak once again found its way into Hamilton’s life, this time during a Rangers home game on July 7.

As has been widely reported, Hamilton innocently tossed a souvenir baseball into the stands. Tragically, 39-year-old firefighter Shannon Brown lost his balance while attempting to catch the ball and fell 20 feet to his death. Understandably, Hamilton has been hit hard by this unspeakable event.

On a far more lighthearted note, Hamilton was spotted Wednesday outside the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Anaheim, signing autographs and shaking hands with a group of younger and older fans. Interestingly, this interaction took place in plain view of folks driving down very busy Chapman Avenue, just east of Manchester Avenue (this stretch of road is technically located in the city of Orange, CA). Hamilton stopped to sign, right before crossing Chapman, on his way to grab lunch.

Hamilton's and another man’s restaurant of choice was the Wendy’s on the north side of Chapman (restaurant pictured above). After partaking in a burger, the two men headed across the parking lot and into a Starbucks (store pictured above).

After a few minutes inside the coffeehouse, the two guys re-crossed Chapman to enter the hotel parking lot once again (top photo, Hamilton on right).

It was nice to witness how uncomplicated lunch and an afternoon beverage was for Josh Hamilton, considering his life appears to be the furthest thing from simple.
