Josh Willingham is the leftfielder for the Minnesota Twins, playing in his eighth MLB season and first with Minnesota. Prior to joining the Twins, Willingham played for the then Florida Marlins, as well as the Washington Nationals and Oakland Athletics. His best year came in 2011 with Oakland, when he hit 29 homeruns and drove in 98 runs.
This performance earned him a three-year/$21 million contract from the Twins.
So far in 2012, Willingham has put together a very solid first half, posting 15 HR and 50 RBI (entering Saturday). As a result of his good play, Willingham has become a pretty popular player in Minnesota, despite the team’s continued subpar play on the field.
Late Thursday afternoon, per the above iFolloSports.com original video, Willingham spent a couple hours individually posing for photos at a Best Buy store, in the Twin Cities suburb of Richfield, Minnesota.
The pictures were taken by a professional photographer. They were then instantly printed, with a Twins border placed around them, for the many Twins fans in attendance.
Dressed very casually, Willingham came across as a very down-to-earth ballplayer.
In addition to this Willingham article, here is a link to a video clip and story involving Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe's and pitcher Anthony Swarzak's recent appearance at a Twin Cities restaurant/bar.
