I was walking through the lobby of the Standard Hotel in Downtown LA, a few years back, when I saw a vaguely familiar looking guy wearing very nondescript glasses and a white baseball hat.  Upon closer look, I realized that it was none other than Justin Timberlake.  I don’t know if he was checking into the hotel or meeting with people there, but he was certainly doing his best to remain anonymous.  I had recognized him, but I’m not sure too many other people had done the same.  A few minutes later, I noticed that a couple Japanese men had taken notice of Timberlake and began bombarding him with pictures, handshakes and really total awe.  Timberlake seemed very affable to the men, smiling and participating fully in their excitement.  Since no one else was in that little hallway, at the time, Timberlake was able to continue his anonymity after the guys moved along.  I was dually impressed with the Japanese tourists’ ability to spot Timberlake through the disguise and Timberlake’s kindness to these fans, even though he was hoping not to be spotted.  Justin was both worldwide and world class, on this day at least.
