Kat DeLuna has a new album coming out called Inside Out, the follow up to her 2007 smash 9 Lives.  Now seems like the perfect time to talk about my encounter with her since her new song "Push Push (ft. Akon)" is starting to blow up the airwaves.

Kat came up to the Z100 studios to promote her first single "Whine Up."  After doing some research on her, I found out that she is a classically trained opera singer.  However, I don't always believe everything I hear on the internet, so I had to ask her myself.

When Kat entered the studios, we had a few minutes to kill.  I told her how much I loved "Whine Up" and how it was going to be a smash (which it was).  She smiled and thanked me.  I then asked her if it was true if she could sing opera.  She laughed and said, "I do!" then started belting out a tune in full voice.  Let me tell you - Kat is an AMAZING singer.  Don't let the pop hooks fool you. 

After being blown away, we laughed and she headed into the studio for her interview.
