As the LA Galaxy prepare for their MLS Cup game vs. the Houston Dynamo, Saturday in Carson, California, I’m reminded of when I walked past Landon Donovan near my home in Manhattan Beach, just south of LAX. I had heard that Donovan lived in the beach city, but I’d yet to see him at a restaurant or on the pier.

A couple weeks ago, I was walking along the strand, right next to the beach, when I saw Donovan holding hands with an attractive blond woman. The couple was walking two dogs. They seemed to fit right in amongst the other active people.

I had read this earlier Donovan story and photo, sent into ifollosports.com in September. Ironically, my sighting took place at virtually the same spot in Manhattan Beach. Clearly, the US soccer legend spends a whole lot of time walking the picturesque shores of our shared city of residence.
