I was at Channel 933 (San Diego's) "Your Holiday Show" in the winter of 2006.  The show featured Nelly Furtado,The Pussycat Dolls, Timbaland, JoJo, Frankie J., Nick Lachey, Gym Class Heroes & Ne-Yo.

I remember thinking I had met all the artists there but was stoked to meet Timbaland.  He was the "it" artist of the moment.  He was having massive success producing songs on Nelly Furtado's and the Pussy Cat Dolls latest albums.

I had a few friends that worked at the station, so I ended up back stage with a staff pass and watched the meet & greets with all the artists.  I waited til the end of the Timbaland meet & greet to go hake his hand and say hello.  From what I understand from the other staff members, e came off as kind of shy.  I didn't understand what they meant til I went and said hi and tried to strike up conversation and realized Timbaland was a man of very few words.

Some are clearly ok with their celebrity, while others aren't sure how to deal with it.  in 2008 I had Timbaland on my show and trying to get him to answer questions was like pulling teeth.  While being very smart and talented, he's more a studio rat.  His interacting with media is often limited because he is a man of few words.  It's probably why he is the man behind such great acts as Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, OneRepublic & more.

Overall it was great to meet Timbo, and makes for a pretty cool picture to show people.  Glad to share it with you here.
