Earlier this baseball season, when Delmon Young was still playing for the Minnesota Twins, my brother and I went to a Twins fundraiser called “Hang with the Majors.”  The event took place at the popular Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar in the Minneapolis suburb St. Louis Park. The affair was a benefit for the Minnesota Military Foundation and their families. Several Twins players were in attendance, bar tending, serving and having dinner with people who paid for that opportunity.

My brother and I saw that Delmon Young was bar tending, so we decided to go and talk to him. Young was extremely nice, we were even able to joke around with him for a few minutes. We asked if we could get our picture taken with him and he obliged. It turned out to be a fun and meaningful event, as we were able to support an important cause and meet several of our favorite players. Our picture was taken two months before Young was traded to the division rival Tigers. To this point, what a great postseason he is having in Detroit.
