I admit it!  For a few years I had something with Pharrell.  Of course he didnt know, but I did, lol.  Our first meeting had me at "hello".  I have a few Pharrell memories, but my favorite is when I made one of the biggest radio mistakes of my life.  First of all my boss, Colby Colb says  to me, "Laiya you have to go to Pharrell's room at the Four Seasons to do an interview".  Word?  Word!  So I mosey on down to the Four Season's on Ben Franklin Parkway with my mini recorder in hand!  Im ready!  Pharrell answers the door, in boxers and no shirt....Im thinkin "sh**", but of course he had a lady friend in the room with him.  When I first lay eyes on her I think "whoa she looks like chick, kinda like me and shes wearing glasses!".  Then to make it even better, shes from DC and we have mutual friends.  This is great news to me, because Im thinking me and Pharrell  could really happen one day lol.  Anyway so I go into radiogirl mode, getting one of the best interviews of my career thus far.  I walk out the room with a new attitude!  I am having my Barbra Walter's moment.  I call my boss to brag about the great interview that I just had and then I go to listen back to the tape while on the elevator.....PAUSE there is only 30 seconds of sound on here! The batteries died. Needless to say I was sick!  So I drive to the studio to see my homie Ahmir aka Questlove (The Roots) he informs me that we are going to the movies.  Guess with who?  Yes Pharrell!  And about 4 other people lol.  Who cares I was in heaven and that night time stopped lol.  After the movie we grabbed some food and my year was complete!  Just another day in laiyasworld......
