Nigel Mansell and his wife Rosanne were staying at the beautiful Millbrook Resort in Queenstown, NZ where my husband Rob was the CEO.  As one of the world's most successful Formula 1 racing drivers ever, Nigel obviously attracts a lot of attention wherever he goes.  My husband is really down to earth and unphased by fame and I think this appealed to Nigel.  During their stay, Nigel and Rob built up a great rapport, particularly on the golf course which Nigel has a passion for.  One warm summer's evening, Nigel and Rosanne came to our humble home for a regular kiwi BBQ.  Nigel stoked up our BBQ and proceeded to cook the meat to perfection; don't know how he managed to wrestle that activity off Rob?.  Our boys were pre-schoolers at the time and were swinging from the trees and carrying on like young ones do.  We were simply two families enjoying each others company.  Rosanne and Nigel are warm, compassionate, family oriented people who, like many of us, enjoy the regular things in life.  Nigel is a very accomplished man - there's a lot more to him than Formula 1 racing.  I didn't think it was possible for someone to do so many diverse things to such great heights.  Did you know he's also a pilot?!  They shared such interesting stories about their life, raising children on the racing circuit, dealing with fame, keeping their kids secure and having royal family members over for dinner - at this point I felt a bit sub-conscious about my dinner set!  Rosanne impressed me as a really wholesome, gracious and beautiful women.   This is truly a family to be admired; I'll never forget the experience.
