Met Dan as well as Miguel Cabrera, Jeremy Hermida, Alfonso Amezga and Hanley Ramirez after a Reds-Marlins game in Cincinnati.Those were only the Marlins players. Also met Juan Castro, Javier Valentine and Jorge Cantu when they were with the Reds
We met at a club/restuarant that is now defunct, Jeff Ruby's Tropicana. Very approachable, very kind. Has a brother that looks just like him named Mike. I never knew this but MLB players have to pay for their hotel rooms on the road as well as food and beverages. No free rides apparently. It's a long season, could you imagine what the bills would be? Dan was kind enough to fill me in on that. Had a great time chatting with him.
Dan now plays for the Atlanta Braves and despite a slow start in 2011, finished very strongly and at one point hit for 26 straight games.
