Pau Gasol Is All Class With Fans (Video)
Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol has had a turbulent last few months, to say the least. The four-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion began the season having to come to grips with being traded to the Houston Rockets, as part of the ified Chris Paul to the Lakers, three-team transaction.
In the months after returning to the team who had made the decision to let him go, Gasol was forced to deal with an onslaught of further trade rumors, which persisted all the way up to the NBA trade deadline of March 15.
On the court, Gasol had what some considered to be an underperforming season, all though that is a hard point to argue when considering that the Spanish big man's points per game (17.4) were only slightly below his career average, with his rebounds per game (10.4) exceeding his career average by more than a full board per contest.
Unfortunately for Gasol, his postseason numbers, in the first two rounds of this season's playoffs, are considerably down from past years. While his rebounding totals remain at their normal perch, number 16's point average is down five points per game.
The Lakers need to get more than 12.6 points out of Gasol, if they hope to erase the Oklahoma City Thunder's 2-1 series lead in the Western Conference Semifinals.
Despite his roller coaster ride of a season, Gasol has continued to show a high level of respect towards NBA fans.
Friday afternoon, per the above iFolloSports.com original video, Gasol was seen providing ample time to LA fans, as he drove his Porsche away from the Toyota Sports Center (Lakers practice facility) in El Segundo (CA).
This scene took place just a few hours prior to his team's Game 3 victory at Staples Center.
This type of interaction is nothing new for Gasol, as can be seen in this iFolloSports.com original video clip, which was shot outside of the Lakers Minneapolis hotel in March.
In this clip, Gasol offers the same type of effort with fans on the road, as he is known to exercise with the NBA followers of Southern California.
Pau Gasol deserves a tremendous amount of credit for the player he is on the court and the way he carries himself as a man away from the hardwood.
