I was reading an iFollo story about seeing Pete Rose in Las Vegas and it brought to mind the time I saw Rose right next door to where he was spotted in the other story.  I was in Vegas with some friends for the first and second rounds of the 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. We were staying at Planet Hollywood, which turned out to be a really good place for watching all of the games. We’d all been to Vegas a few times before this trip and really liked eating lunch at the Stage Deli, located in the Caesars Palace Forum Shops. Each day, we would go there in the mid afternoon. One of the days, as we were leaving the restaurant, we noticed the all-time hit king and world’s most infamous gambler eating lunch at the deli.  We did not say anything to him, as he was eating lunch by himself. It was very cool and unexpected to see him at the deli, but we wondered why he was there. We later found out that he was a regular at the Stage Deli because right across the hall was a “Field of Dreams” store, where we learned he routinely signed autographs.  Based on the other story, it looked like Rose was very accessible to fans, during his appearances at the store. Unfortunately, the same doesn’t currently apply to bumping into to him at the Stage Deli, as it is no longer open in that location.
