When talking about the dopest producers in music, you can't leave out The Neptunes. Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo have made some of the greatest beats and worked with some of the most successful artists in the industry.

And N.E.R.D. is one of those weird-but-cool groups you just have to check out.

Back in '03, there was an industry party in Los Angeles and lots of artists, program directors, and music directors were invited.

Early in the evening, people started saying that Pharrell was in the building. I looked around but couldn't find him right away. When I finally got close, I discovered why I was having trouble spotting him. He's a pretty short guy. Not tiny, but definitely shorter than average.

I told him I was a fan of his stuff and he told me he really appreciated it. He was down to take photos, not just with me, but with everybody who came up him.

Very quiet, but very approachable dude. And it's cool that he flashed his "Star Trak" sign.
