There are a few bands I have had to interview multiple times.  Now whether I dig your music or am passive about the product, I always try to put on a good interview.  Afterall, it's not about my personal agenda but that of promoting the band in front of me.  Whether I like it or not, it's about their fan base and broadening their appeal to a potential new audience.

I've always sugested that some punk/rock alt/rock groups who cross over into mainstream and have success selling records on say itunes for example are considered by some peers as sellouts.  WIth that being the case, more often than not even though directed by their record company to talk to pop stations...usually their distain for "having" to do these interviews comes through when you're talking to them live.  That was totally the case in this interview with Simple Plan.

Now this wasn't my first rodeo with these guys and I kind of came to know what to expect.  Trying to get a straight answer on anything with these guys is pulling teeth.  It's not that they were rude, moreso just didn't take anything seriously.  And when it is my job to roll with the punches and try to do the best I can for the record company and the band as far as promoting their show...sometimes you wanna look at the artist and say..hey, little help here!

Simple Plan overall are funny guys, but sometimes think they are funnier than everyone else in the room and act sorta cheesy.  I must say they were cool with their fans and that goes further than any interview.  It all goes back to what this site is all about.  What is your favorite celebrity really like.  To most of us it's a personal experience.  WIth a forum like this however, you get to add your opinion of when you met that artist and what they were like to you.  Because let's face it, sometimes and artist can be a jerk.  Not that I felt this way about Simple Plan, but if they took things and themselves a little more seriously, i'm sure the interview woulda reflected how cool these guys truly are.
