In Lansing, Michigan, there is an annual concert festival called Common Ground. In 2008, Sammy Hagar was amongst the extensive lineup that included Snoop Dogg, and other fantastic artists. Early that Tuesday I drove out to the park where the festival was, to help the afternoon personality on my station set up his live afternoon broadcast. One of his interviews that afternoon was with the Red Rocker! I was excited, I know it sounds like I am a betrayer to all things rock by saying this, but Sammy is a better singer than Roth!!

We sent for Sammy, and the Common Ground employee hopped on her golf cart and rode off into the chaos, like it was an ancient medieval battlefield! 10 minutes elapsed, then, I saw something in the distance. It looked like...could it be...yup, it was the long flowing locks of Sammy Hagar.

He was sitting shotgun with the Common Ground lady, and it seemed like they were doin' at least 53 miles an hour in that golf cart! Sammy was an all around good guy! The commonground lady had a concert program guide she wanted me to have him sign, and he was very cool about it. I chatted with him for a bit, expressed my love for Cabo Wabo Tequila, and alcohol in general. He hopped back on the cart like a mongol warlord, and the Common Ground lady took him back into the sunset!
