Though most notorious as the lead guitarist for Bon Jovi and probably his relationships with Cher, Heather Locklear and Denise Richards, most folks don't remember Richie Sambora's first solo album, Stranger In This Town. It was a fantastic record, much more blues based than his work with the band that made him famous.

In support of the first single on the album, Ballad Of Youth, Richie was doing the "promo thing" across the country and I was lucky enough to have him for a day in Seattle.

Richie is the nicest guy in the world. My first memory of the day was when he asked the limo driver to go in to a drugstore to get him some under arm deodorant (Mitchum, in case you're wondering) and gave him a  $100 bill to cover it. I just found it awesome when he refused to  accept the $90+ change and told the driver to keep it!

Richie does one of the best imitations of Sammy Davis Jr. I've ever  heard besides me. All day long entire conversations between the two of  us were done in "Sammy-isms"...very funny stuff!

It was a great day with Richie Sambora, and if I could define the  experience in his own words when something was a ultra-cool, the day  was "TOTALLY BUTANE"!!!
