Rush Acknowledged My Existence!
Rush Acknowledged My Existence!

In 2004, at the ripe old age of twenty, I got invited to be part of the on air staff at a legendary monster rock station in Columbus, Ohio called Q fm 96. This is really the stomping ground where I cut my teeth as a broadcaster! The afternoon personality who goes by the name Joe Show, took me under his wing and help develop my on air chops! My experience at Q fm 96 is one I will be forever thankful for!

A few months into my employment at the station, I heard about a station birthday concert that was featuring one of my favorite bands of all time, rock legends Rush! I asked if I could get a pair of tickets, and my program director hooked it up. I figured I would get good seats, but nothing too crazy.

I picked up my tickets at will call. The friend who I brought and I began to make our way to our seats for the show, at this huge ampitheater in Columbus. We kept going, and going...pretty soon I realized that I didn't just have good seats...I had freakin 3rd row seats. I was a few mere feet away from Rush, and made eye contact with all the members as they rocked the faces right off of the thousands of concert goers! They started into Tom Sawyer and I freaked out. I screamed at the top of my lungs "Yeah!" I threw up the devil horns, and both Alex and Geddy acknowledged me with a nod of approval. This is why I have no problem with death now!
