During their trip to Anaheim, for the NCAA West Regional, the Duke Blue Devil basketball team set up shop at the Hyatt Regency Orange County. This property is located just across the street from the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort, the base of operation for the Connecticut Huskies. Around 3:00 PM PT, the entire Duke roster, minus the coaching staff, was seen making their way through the lobby of the Hyatt. Senior forward Kyle Singler was walking slightly ahead of the pack, wearing a USA Basketball T-shirt. Shorty after, a larger group of players including freshman sensation Kyrie Irving and senior guard Nolan Smith moved through the area. Right after that, sophomore guard Seth Curry zigzagged his way around the attendees of a large meeting also taking place at the hotel. Unfortunately for Duke, the carefree feeling of the afternoon was replaced by deep despair later in the evening, when the number five seeded Arizona Wildcats crushed the top seeded Blue Devils 93-77. Singler battled foul trouble all game, contributing 18 points and 8 rebounds. Irving had an excellent night statistically, scoring 28 points in 31 minutes. Smith ended his college career on a disappointing note, scoring 8 points, but turning over the ball 6 times. Curry scored 2 points, in only 9 minutes of action.
