Wednesday afternoon, while hanging out in the lobby of the University Hotel Minneapolis, on the University of Minnesota campus, I saw the entire Michigan State Spartans basketball team.
MSU was in Minneapolis to play the Golden Gophers.
I entered the hotel just as the Spartans were leaving out a side door, where their team bus to Williams Arena was waiting. The Gophers home venue is only a few blocks away from the University Hotel.
It was nice to see the sixth ranked Spartans, who are one of the top teams in the country and have one of the best coaches in Tom Izzo. Izzo has led his team to six final fours and the 2000 NCAA Championship over the Florida Gators.
Later that night, Michigan State came from behind to beat the Gophers 66-61, improving their record to 23-5 on the season.
