When meeting new artists, I don't know who is more anxious. The artist because they are coming in to prove their material and some times even score airplay with an amazing acoustic performance in front of radio station staff and guests. Or me, who has to dig up the very little information about a band you have never heard of before but do the best interview possible and make it sound like you and that artist(s) are good friends and go way back. You want them to feel comfortable talking to you creating a good experience for all involved.
In this instance, Flyleaf came by our Orlando studios to do an acoustic set of their latest and greatest. Now I had heard of Flyleaf but wasn't super familiar with their work as it broke on the rock charts first.
Picture us in an intimate setting with about 50 people or so, candles lit and Flyleaf about to perform. The first thing I remarked at when listening to them play is Laceyhas a set of pipes, she can really sing. Her voice resonated it was amazing and you could really feel the words she was singing. They were more than just words, it was emotion.
She was alittle meek in the interview, and didn't seem super comfortable often times turning to the other band members for support. But after getting to know her you could tell she is a genuine person and happy to be doing what she loves.

I've met Lacey, too. She is really sweet and down to earth.
