Back when I was in third grade, my friends and my teacher were huge Steve Young fans. We decided that we would write him as a class and ask him to come and visit us. We all drew pictures of him playing for the 49ers and sent them with our letters.

We sent our pictures and letters sometime at the beginning of the school year, around October or November. Months passed and most of us had forgotten about our letters. 

One afternoon during art, we looked over to see who was opening our classroom door and it was Steve Young! We all let out high pitched screams (even the boys at that age) and started yelling and clapping. I think Steve  must have been surprised by the response because he kind of just stood there at the door and smiled and waved! 

Our teacher finally got us to calm down and welcomed Steve to our class and asked him to come in. He spent and hour or two with our class and signed autographs and told us how important it was for us to be in school and study hard. He was awesome. I still remember it as the highlight of my grade-school years!
