Tom Izzo has been the head coach of the Michigan State Spartans basketball team since 1995. During his time in East Lansing, Izzo has won seven Big Ten championships, while leading the Spartans to six Final Fours and one national title (2000 versus Florida).
Izzo stands as the most successful Big Ten coach since Bob Knight’s run of 11 conference titles, five Final Four appearances and three national titles, during his tenure at Indiana.
Izzo is by far the most well known and recognizable coach in the present day version of Big Ten hoops.
Saturday, Izzo was among a very impressive list of college coaches at an Elite Youth Basketball League tournament, played in the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan, Minnesota.
Above is iFolloSports.com original video of Izzo taking in the day’s action.
Per these additional pieces of iFolloSports.com original video, Izzo was joined at the tourney by many other big names including legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim and Kansas’ Bill Self.
Even though Izzo was in the home state of a conference rival, the Minnesota Golden Gophers, he still received a great deal of respect from spectators in attendance at the Eagan event.
