Triple H (Paul Levesque) has put together perhaps the most unique career in the history of professional wrestling.
After a brief stint in the now defunct WCW, Levesque made his way to the WWE (then WWF) in 1995. Among Triple H’s most significant early accomplishments involved his membership in D-Generation X, a group that was highly instrumental in the WWE overtaking WCW as the most popular wrestling organization.
This alliance also paved the way for Triple H’s on and off screen relationship with the infamous Chyna.
In 1999, after a heel turn that resulted in Triple H becoming the most hated competitor in the WWF, he successfully captured the then WWF Championship, after defeating Mankind in August of that year.
“The Game” would go on to hold the WWF/WWE Championship eight times and the World Heavyweight Championship five times.
Triple H’s turning also set the stage for the most important professional and personal alliance of his life.
Within the storyline, Triple H married Stephanie McMahon, daughter of Vince McMahon. The two became the acting “co-owners” of the organization on screen, while also becoming romantically involved outside of the ring. The couple got married in 2003.
Fast forward to 2011 and things are looking pretty darn good for Mr. Levesque. He and Stephanie have three daughters and “The Game” now leads the WWE’s new talent development department, working out of corporate headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
In ring, Triple H is back to playing a prominent role, serving as the on screen “chief executive officer.”
What an interesting life this man has carved out.
