The rap duo the Ying Yang Twins have been around since about 2000. But they really started to blow up starting around 2003 with huge party songs like Saltshaker, Badd, What's Happnin, and Wait (The Whisper Song).

So, when they were announced as part of the lineup at San Francisco radio station Wild 94.9's annual Boo Bomb concert, everyone was pretty excited.

I was invited to make (another) trip to the bay to check out the show and interview a couple of the groups. As a bonus, I was able to take my personal equipment manager/promotions representative (AKA my girlfriend) with me to take some photos. 

A line of radio people formed in front of a table where the Ying Yang Twins were going to sit and do interviews. They walked in, said "hi" to everyone, sat down.....and ordered wings. Yup, before they did anything, they needed some chicken wings. So while a "gopher" went to pick up their wings, we just stood there and waited.

When the food arrived, we just stood there and waited again. It was pretty weird standing in a small room watching a couple rappers finish eating their chicken.

Finally, the interview sessions started, I got some drops, and they ended up being a couple nice and funny guys.

Next time, I'm bringing 'em wings.
