Canadian Skier Suffers Unusual Injury

Manuel Osborne-Paradis, a 27-year-old member of the Canadian national alpine skiing team, is having a rough 2011. Osborne-Paradis, who competed in the downhill and super-g events at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, suffered a broken leg in a downhill race at Chamonix, France last January. He has been rehabbing the injury in Calgary.
On July 14, an intoxicated Osborne-Paradis climbed onto a party bus, lost his grip and fell off, then was dragged nearly 100 yards before the bus driver was alerted and stopped. Calgary Police said he was being treated for "severe road rash on his buttocks." They also issued him a traffic citation for riding or being towed on the outside of a motor vehicle.
