An Even More Impressive Giant Victory From The Weekend

If you like high-scoring basketball games, then you would have loved this one Saturday evening in north Florida.
The Jacksonville Giants of the American Basketball Association stomped on the Columbus Riverballers 211-84. The former ABA scoring record of 206 points was also set by the Giants in a 206-102 rout of the Georgia Gwizzlies last season.
The new ABA, which has a ridiculous 86 teams, was founded in 2000 and is unrelated to the old ABA, which merged with the NBA in 1976.
Incidentally, the NBA record for most points in a regulation game is 173, set by the Boston Celtics over the Minneapolis Lakers in 1959 and equaled by the Phoenix Suns over the Denver Nuggets in 1990.
