Goalkeeper Scores From More Than 100 Yards Out!
By Bruce Tenen - Thu, 2012-01-05 15:41
Wednesday night, American keeper Tim Howard scored the longest goal in the history of the English Premier League, but his Everton side lost to Bolton 2-1. Howard became only the fourth goalie to score in EPL history (the EPL was founded in 1992), as his windblown boot bounced over the head of the Bolton keeper, giving his side a 1-0 lead
Howard spoke with Bolton keeper Adam Bogdan after the match.
“I let him know that I was feeling for him. It’s not a nice place to be. I’ve been there before, a long, long time ago, and that was why I didn’t celebrate,” explained Howard to the media afterwards.
