Jerry Kill Returns To The Minnesota Sidelines After Seizure

Jerry Kill suffers seizureAfter spending most of last week in the hospital, University of Minnesota first year coach Jerry Kill returned to the sidelines for the Gophers 29-23 win over Miami (Ohio).

Two Saturdays ago, late in the fourth quarter of a home loss to New Mexico State, medical personnel descended upon the Minnesota sideline, as Kill lay on the field, rolling around on the turf with arms and legs flapping. After being treated for about 15 minutes, Kill was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. This was Kill's third seizure late in a game during his coaching career, after once suffering through one during a TV taping.  Every episode has taken place within the last 10 years, with doctors speculating that the condition may be related to prior treatment for kidney cancer.

Interestingly, every time Kill has dealt with his reoccurring seizure issue, he has returned to coach the very next week.

Based on the 50-year-old's medical history, as well as the traumatic nature of something as serious as a seizure, we aren’t so sure his quick return to the stressful world of coaching is such a great idea. Hopefully, a future Kill episode does not result in an even more severe and scary situation for the former head coach at both Southern and Northern Illinois.
