Random Thoughts From The NBA Playoffs

Spurs 13 consecutive seasons with 50 winsSunday, the New York Knicks defeated the Miami Heat 89-87, in Game 4 of their first round playoff series. The Knicks had lost 13 straight postseason games before edging the Heat, an NBA record for futility.   The last playoff victory by the Knicks took place way back in 2001, when they advanced past the Toronto Raptors.

The defending champion Dallas Mavericks got swept for the first time in franchise history, during a best-of-seven game series. The Oklahoma City Thunder were simply younger and faster.

The top-seeded San Antonio Spurs finished first in the West with a record of 50-16, tying the Bulls for the best record in the league.

The Spurs now hold the NBA record of 13 consecutive seasons with at least 50 wins.
