The Southeast Leads The USA In Both College Football & Girth

Mississippi fattest state in the USThe new preseason Associated Press poll is simply littered with teams from the Southeastern Conference, as you might expect.

Alabama, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina and Arkansas all ranked in the top ten. Additionally, nearby ACC schools like Florida State and Clemson are rated number seven and fourteen respectively, while Virginia Tech slots in at sixteenth.

In a related story, a new survey by the US Centers for Disease Control ranks the South highly among the nation's fattest states, with Mississippi coming in at number one, the sixth consecutive year that a southern state has won this honor.

Mississippi scored an adult obesity rate of 34.9 percent. Louisiana was second at 33.4 percent,
followed by West Virginia and Alabama.

Arkansas, South Carolina and Kentucky also ranked in the top ten.

Colorado had the lowest obesity rate nationally at 20.7 percent.

We aren't sure if this proves anything, although we do not like the chances for a Colorado university doing well in the SEC.

Congrats Mississippi, you are number one!
