A California native, Bruce is a graduate of UCLA and resides in Venice Beach.


St. John’s coach Steve Lavin added to his highly touted recruiting class by inking a ninth player. God's Gift Achiuwa, from Nigeria by way of Erie Community College, averaged 22.3 points and 11 rebounds per game. Achiuwa, a bruising power forward with a 4.0 GPA, chose the Red Storm over Washington, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. All of his five siblings have names which reflect the devout religious beliefs of their father, a minister.
