Where Does Losing Team Super Bowl Gear End Up?

Super Bowl losing team merchandise and World VisionThe NFL pre-produced a significant amount of apparel, including shirts and hats, proclaiming the Super Bowl champion. But, for the second time in the past five years, gear involving the New England Patriots has no value after the Big Game’s conclusion.

With all the excess merchandise in hand, the league elects to ship the gear overseas to help needy people in impoverished nations, through a humanitarian organization called World Vision in Pittsburgh.

In addition to the Patriots' gear, items celebrating non-existent victories by the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers in conference title games are boxed up and shipped to World Vision.

Countries receiving the losing team merchandise include Mozambique, Armenia, El Salvador, Mongolia, Haiti, Ghana and the Sudan, which are the major recipients.
