Crosby’s class vs. Ovechkin’s crass (Part Two)

Last week, iFollo.com chronicled the efforts made by Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby, in trying to accommodate his legions of hometown fans in the Steel City.

In the very same posting, iFollo.com displayed recent video showing Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin going the opposite direction, when he chose to break the camera of a fan at the Vancouver Olympics.

The two best players in hockey conduct their business, both on and off the ice, in completely different manners.  Crosby exemplifies refinement, while Ovechkin reeks of physicality.  It is truly a contest pitting grace vs. gruff.

The two pieces of video below appear to reaffirm these claims.

The first video shows Crosby once again going out of his way to sign autographs for fans.

The second video displays Ovechkin flat out ignoring the vast majority of autograph seekers in Uniondale, New York. This video took place in the parking lot adjoining the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the Long Island Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.

Since virtually every NHL team stays at this hotel, when visiting the New York Islanders, this corridor is widely known as one of the easiest locations to obtain autographs in all of sports.
