Wednesday, first-year Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown appeared as a guest on ESPN’s “Pardon the Interruption.” The former Cleveland Cavaliers head man was asked to discuss the differences involved with coaching LeBron James, as compared to Kobe Bryant.

“LeBron is a guy that is more youthful, likes to have a ton of people around him, in terms of his teammates and joking around, almost like a practical jokester at times. There’s a side of him that likes to laugh and laugh with his teammates,” explained Brown.

“Kobe is more businesslike in such that let’s get done with what we need to get done and let’s move on,” added the 2009 NBA Coach of the Year.

In other words, LeBron is interested in camaraderie, goofing around with friends/teammates, as well as winning NBA championships.

On the other hand, Kobe is focused on one thing and one thing only, winning like crazy. No matter what teammates, opponents or fans think of him, in Kobe’s world, results trump everything.

During a press conference, shortly after the Lakers 2010 Finals victory vs. Boston, Bryant described his all out love of coming out on top.

“For me, it’s always the excitement of winning. I never look at it as I don’t want to lose this series. No, we want to pummel these guys, that’s more exciting to me,” boasted number 24.

When was the last time King James made a reference to pummeling an opponent?

Make no mistake, LeBron James absolutely wants to win. But, most observers believe it does not drive him in the way it completely consumes Kobe.
