President Obama & the Celtics Joining Forces Once Again

Barack ObamaWednesday, President Obama will attend a fundraiser at Cyclorama in South Boston. This facility is part of the Boston Center for the Arts. Celtics legend Bill Russell and All-Star guard Ray Allen will be among the 900 supporters present at the event. Both men are expected to address the crowd.

This is not the first time the Celtics have come together in support of the President. Last March, Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and coach Doc Rivers were in attendance at an Obama fundraiser.

The politically active C’s have not just limited their support to the man who occupies the White House. During last June’s NBA Finals, Allen and Rivers attended an event for Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. Lakers legend and Boston arch rival Magic Johnson also attended the Patrick gala.

It looks like the Boston Celtics may have adopted their home state’s famous passion for politics.
